Environmental Responsibility of Ardent – The Addition of the DPF

Date: 28/02/17

We certainly are keen to be green at Ardent, putting in thoughtful and well considered policies and equipment on offer. One of the ways in which we have improved is the addition of our Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF), efficiently removing harmful emissions from the exhausts of the vehicles we have as part of our extended fleet.

So what exactly does the Diesel Particulate Filter do?

Firstly it reduces the amount of particulate matter by over 95%. This massive reduction makes the exhaust a much cleaner part of your vehicle, something that is a welcome addition to any company’s fleet. The passive regeneration process that the DPF goes through ensures that it is cleaned during its working cycle and there are no expensive filters that you have to change on a regular basis, and which can significantly add to the running costs of heavy machinery and vehicles.

There are other benefits to the DPF other than the unbelievable green properties though. It’ll help to reduce noise levels significantly (by -5dB) and the engine will automatically shut down when idle for a set period (again cutting noise and emissions) that you can set, between a-minute to an hour.

It is the clean emissions that win out though, with the DPF meeting the very latest in 4i emission standards, using less CO2 and less NOx gas being released into the atmosphere.
